Mental Health Together: Engaging Derby and Derbyshire

Helping services work for the people that use them.

We believe that people with first-hand experience of mental health conditions, and those who care for them, are the people best qualified to help shape health and social care services to provide better care in the future.

Sue’s Story

Sue got in touch with Mental Health Together to share her experiences of mental health services. After meeting with Sue we decided to collate her experiences into a patient story which we presented to the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Board.

Inpatient Ward Visits

One of the key roles of Mental Health Together is to engage with mental health service users that have acute mental health needs. We do this by supporting a group of ‘Experts by Experience’ to conduct regular ward visits.

Co-production Training

Mental Health Together has developed a training course aimed at raising awareness of the need to involve service receivers and carers in decisions about changes to mental health services.
